I often hear that Christians are, or are not, this, that, or the other thing.  It is maddening trying to keep up with it all.  Christians are human which gives us the dubious honor of being sinful and broken.  In fact, often just as sinful and broken as anyone, maybe even more.  We are not perfect, our motives are not always pure, our brains do not always honor our convictions.  We cannot even live up to the values we trumpet for everyone else.  All this is why we turn to Jesus.  He is perfect.  He is what saves and redeems.  He knew what losers we would tend to be and he loved us in advance.  Before I could sin he offered to forgive me.  He is who and what we want to be (and often who we wrongly think we are, which he again, forgives).

I do not have it all together and I would be willing to bet that you do not either (never trust the guy who says that he does.).  Thankfully Jesus is there, no matter what label I happen to be wearing, and he has already wiped my slate clean.
